LATEST FRAUD WARNING - HI MUM/DAD ……
Fraudsters are contacting customers via SMS or WhatsAPP claiming to be from a son or daughter. The message is received from an unknown number, stating that their phone is broken and they need an urgent bill paid or request for financial help. They are then provided with a name and account details of a third party and asked to send funds to them.
Always be suspicious when you receive an unexpected message asking to transfer funds. If in doubt, call your son or daughter on the genuine number you hold for them, or alternatively contact AIB.
